Rachel Hughes and Elizabeth Miller were friends from the beginning. Their mothers, Jody Ball (Rachel’s mother) and Pam Hendrickson (Elizabeth’s mother), were best of friends. They raised the girls together as they were buyers for a gift store together for almost 20 years. They loved retail and taught the girls to love it as well.
Rachel graduated from the University of Mississippi, and in 1999 Rachel and Jody purchased the Ye Peddler Gift Shoppe together. After marrying and starting her own family, Rachel became a sole proprietor and built the Ye Peddler Gift Shoppe into the exceptional bridal registry and gift store that it is today.
Elizabeth graduated from Lipscomb University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Textiles and apparel. She moved to Dallas, TX to become an assistant buyer for Neiman Marcus in the Children’s Department. After living in Texas for 7 years and starting a family of her own, it was time to move home to Tennessee. Rachel invited her to become her partner in the Ye Peddler Gift Shoppe.
